The most underrated hack for healing the human body:
Detoxing.
It’s the secret for:
• Eliminating toxins
• Preventing cancer
• Reducing inflammation
But most people have no idea how to do it…
So here’s everything you need to know:
1. What is a Full-Body Detox?
A full-body detox is a comprehensive approach that is supposed to “cleans” your system of toxins & “reset” your health.
It involves various methods, including:
• Hydration
• Dietary changes
• Lifestyle adjustments
& there are a few reasons why people do it…
Some people do it to boost their health and energy levels.
Others try it for clearer skin.
& It can also be used to improve digestion.
So this leads me to my next point…
2. How Does a Full-Body Detox Work?
A detox involves 3 key phases:
• Initial Phase (Days 1-3)
During the first few days, focus on hydrating and eliminating processed foods from your diet.
Drink plenty of water, herbal teas, or even just coffee to “flush out” toxins… if you know what I mean…
• Transition Phase (Days 4-7)
In this phase, you start incorporating more structured detox methods.
People do things like fasting or juice cleanses. But, take note:
These are really just trojan horses for further reducing total intake of potentially harmful foods.
Deep Detox Phase (Days 8+)
Once you’re fully into the detox, focus on maintaining a clean diet, regular exercise and proper hydration.
This is when your body will fully enter a state of improved metabolism and “detoxification” because you’ve simply gone an extended period of time without over consuming the usual crap foods.
3. What Are the Benefits of a Full-Body Detox?
Here are some of the benefits you can experience:
• Better skin
• Weight loss
• Improved digestion
• Resetting eating habits
• Enhanced mental clarity
• Increased energy levels
4. How to Do a Full-Body Detox.
Here’s a basic 5-step plan:
1) Hydrate:
Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily & include herbal teas like dandelion or green tea.
2) Eat Clean:
Focus on whole foods & increase fiber with fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
3) Exercise Regularly:
Engage in moderate physical activity to support detoxification through sweating.
4) Prioritize Sleep:
Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night.
5) Avoid Toxins:
Limit alcohol, nicotine, and processed foods.
But here’s my take on it:
At the end of the day, these “Detoxes” are just something people do to reduce their overall intake of overly processed foods.
The “detox” itself isn’t the answer…
Eating less crap is the answer, and you can 100% do them without a “Juice cleanse.”
Because the truth is…
The weight loss you experience in a “detox” isn’t all fat.
It’s a lot of water weight, and maybe some fat…
But if you go right back to how you were eating before – the weight will come crashing back on.
If you choose to do a “detox,” remember that it could be a tool to make you feel “better” temporarily.
But – it’s certainly not the long-term answer.
So, for long-term health and fitness goals, focus on:
• Regular resistance training
• Maintaining a high-protein diet
• Staying in a sustainable caloric deficit
What are your thoughts on full-body detoxes?
Have you tried one before?
